The Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology publishes original
papers, case reports and letters to the editor on all aspects
of gastroenterology and hepatology. Clinical studies
(prospective or retrospective) and experimental studies
are considered as original papers.
Manuscripts are published on the understanding that they
are ori-ginall contributions and do not contain data that
have been published elsewhere or are under consideration
in another Journal. Meeting abstracts are not considered
as a duplicate publication but should be disclosed in
the cover accompanying the manuscript.
The Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology discourages the
submission of more than one article dealing with related
aspects of the same study. Review articles on selected
clinical and basic topics of interest will be solicited by the
editors. In exceptional cases, non-invited reviews may be
considered for publication.
Original papers and case reports are subject to review by
a referee or editors. Review articles are not reviewed
except in extraordinary conditions. After review, the corresponding
author will be notified by letter of the decision to
accept or reject the manuscript for publication. In most
cases, authors will be invited to submit a revised version of
the manuscript for further review. This invitation does not
imply, in any case, that the revised version will be accepted
for publication. Revised manuscripts must be sent to
Editorial Office within four months of the date of decision,
otherwise they will be considered as new manuscripts.
In general, reviewer reports are enclosed to the letter if a
manuscript is rejected. Editors can reject the manuscript
without review if the subject is not within the scope of the
Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology.
Reports of exceptional scientific importance will be considered
as rapid communication. The request for a rapid
communication together with its reason must be made in
the cover letter at the time of submission.
Offprints of each manuscript are available in lost of 20; to
order these fill out the order form sent with the acceptance
letter.
A postage change of 30,00-YTL for each submitted manuscript
must be paid by the author(s) to the Turkish
Gastroenterology Foundation (Bank account: Türkiye İş
Bankası, Abidinpaşa Branch Office, account number:
4232-512442). In case of acceptance of a manuscript
which contains colour illustrations, an additional fee of
30,00-YTL should paid to the same bank account.
ORIGINIAL PAPERS
Acceptance of original papers will be based upon the
originality and importance of the investigation.
CASE REPORTS

pathogenesis or treatment of gastrointestinal or liver
